Ear piercing bars: a millimeter makes all the difference 📐
If we're talking about classic barbells with a flat back, the size will depend on the thickness of your skin
Generally, these are the most suitable sizes:
- Helix: 6mm, or 8mm for thicker cartilage
- Tragus: 8mm
- Snug: 8mm curved barbell
- Lobe: 6mm
- Forward helix: 6mm
- Rook: 8mm curved barbell
- Flat: 6mm
- Conch: 8mm
BUT☝️
Our advice is always to measure them in a very simple way: for the 'barbell length' of your piercing, in the case of labrets, this means the part between the top and the flat back, excluding these from the measurement. For curved barbells, it means the part between the two balls, excluding these from the measurement
Bridge and Nipple Barbells: the easiest to measure 💁♀️
For these two piercings, the size is extremely personal, but don't worry: measuring them is really easy ✨
Tongue: ask first 🤭
Again, this is extremely personal. In many cases, a 16mm is used once the piercing has healed, but we recommend consulting your piercer and asking what size they used for your piercing.
Septum, Smiley, Nostril, Eyebrow and Lip Piercings:
Here too, we could generalize by saying that:
- Nostril: 8mm
- Septum: 8mm (10mm if you want a more dropped and wider effect)
- Smiley: 10mm
- Eyebrow: 8mm
- Lip Piercing: 8mm
but as always, it depends on the thickness of your skin and the placement of the piercing. If you still have doubts after the sizing advice given above, do not hesitate to contact your piercer to find out what size you are currently wearing
